Botalista DataShare Center

Share data. Enrich knowledge.

A data-sharing architecture to connect the knowledge and expertise of botanical institutions.

Less duplication, more sharing

People’s names, scientific names, bibliographic references and descriptions can be entered in multiple institutions. The Botalista DataShare Center (BDSC) project aims to share this information, reduce inconsistencies and help the community benefit from each institute’s expertise.

A web services architecture

The concept envisages web services on individual Botalista instances communicating with a data-sharing centre. Connectivity with other databases is intended to use international standards for exchanging biodiversity information.

Historical sources describe a planned sharing service and give a past target date. The repository does not confirm its current operational status. Contact the association for the available scope.
